A mirror that is too small looks like an afterthought, like a postage stamp on a door. For a standard small living room, a mirror at least 80 centimeters wide, preferably leaning against the wall rather than hung, creates a much stronger illusion of depth. Leaning mirrors also solve the problem of odd wall studs or bad drywall. You do not need to drill into a wall that might hide electrical wires.
