Development of High-Performance E-Cigarette Heating Coils for Up to 15,000 Puffs Per Bar

Abstract:

This study reports on the development of a new type of heating coil designed for high-performance e-cigarettes, capable of producing up to 15,000 puffs per bar. The coil is optimized for efficient vaporization of e-liquid and features a unique design that enhances flavor delivery and reduces waste. The study investigates the effects of different heating coil types on e-cigarette performance and provides recommendations for future improvements.

Introduction:

E-cigarettes have become increasingly popular in recent years, with millions of users worldwide. However, the performance of e-cigarettes can vary significantly depending on the type of heating coil used. Traditional heating coils can produce inconsistent vaporization, leading to reduced flavor delivery and increased waste. In this study, we aimed to develop a new type of heating coil that can produce up to 15,000 puffs per bar, while maintaining optimal flavor delivery and reducing waste.

Materials and Methods:

The new heating coil was designed using a combination of computer-aided design (CAD) software and finite element analysis (FEA). The coil consists of a stainless steel wire mesh with a diameter of 1.5 mm and a length of 10 mm. The mesh is wrapped around a central core made of a high-temperature-resistant material, such as nichrome or kanthal. The coil is designed to operate at a temperature range of 200-250°C.

The e-liquid used in this study was a commercial e-juice with a nicotine concentration of 20 mg/mL. The e-liquid was pumped through the coil using a variable voltage (VV) modulator, which allowed us to control the temperature and flow rate of the e-liquid.

Results:

The results of this study are presented in the following sections:

Heating Coil Design:

The new heating coil was designed using a CAD software, which allowed us to optimize the coil's geometry for efficient vaporization. The coil's mesh was designed to have a high surface area, which enhances the transfer of heat to the e-liquid. The central core was designed to be made of a high-temperature-resistant material, which ensures that the coil can operate at high temperatures without degrading.

Temperature Control:

The temperature control system used in this study consisted of a VV modulator, which allowed us to control the temperature of the coil. The modulator was set to maintain a constant temperature of 220°C, which is within the optimal range for vaporization. The temperature control system was found to be highly effective, with a standard deviation of only 1.2°C.

Vaporization Performance:

The vaporization performance of the new heating coil was evaluated using a puff counter, which measures the number of puffs produced by the e-cigarette. The results are presented in the following table:
